Participants in the prune group experienced a significant decrease in hard stool rates and an increase in normal stool rates, along with improved stool frequency and gastrointestinal symptoms related to constipation.
Patients consuming the standard dose of DMB showed improved taste acuity, increased energy intake, better energy expenditure coverage, and enhanced quality of life, particularly in terms of constipation. Additionally, levels of beneficial fatty acids in erythrocytes increased, and fat-free mass improved significantly.
